I'm the current goTenna Mesh range record holder, AMA!

PM me where you’re wanting to do this and I’ll check with my friends who are pilots.

Isn’t no thing for them to pull up an aero map and look. Takes 30 seconds.

@gua742 who are you asking to PM you? Me??

@Mark whomever has a drone and needs to know the limits of the airspace/altitude in where they are/want to operate it in or around. I might have misread the tread, if so my mistake.

@gua742 that’s ok. I was asking the altitude the drone was at when the military was demoing a drone with a gotenna mesh mounted to it. Looks like they were able to get close to 30 mile range which is impressive. Since I have a drone and plan on doing a test of my own I was curious at what altitude they were at to get close to 30miles. With the military having high end AC drones and consumer drones down to phantom pro plus models (which I have) I was curious at what altitude they were hovering at.

I’m also curious if having a gotenna mesh mounted would cause any interference with the AC drone components. @Rahul_Subramany is looking into this.

@Mark No - goTenna Mesh will not interfere with any of the drone’s components.
Also, commercially available drones usually operate off 2.4 GHz frequencies. There will not be any interference with the drone’s RF radio.

30 mile range requires antenna height of about 400 feet to ground, or two drones at 150 feet.
